I really liked Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion, I thought it was a delightful little game, but it left me wanting to have my own little spin on the soundtrack, so I decided to give it a fresh coat of paint! (or in this case, sound.) I hope you all enjoy it!

I love Dogs - Composer Commentary:
Psychological Horror is one of my favorite genres, it's a borderline relaxing experience for me sometimes and Spooky’s take on the genre was marvelous, but the chase theme just felt weak for me. This song doesn’t have really any clear inspirations for me, I just made what I thought fit for the Specimen. For the first time, the thing I drew inspiration from was my own experience with the game, and not an external reference. The moment I entered Specimen 7’s room I felt pressured and uncomfortable. As the Cat told me not to “lose myself in my mask” for a moment I actually forgot I was even playing a video game. As I walked through the room more I became more and more confused. Which is why when the Wall of Flesh finally appeared I felt an odd sense of peace while being chased, which is why I made the second piano & strings section. Now that I look back on this track, the production here is very much inspired by a certain 6-hour long dementia album, but it doesn’t really feel like that for me. I feel like I just made a track that captures my experience being chased by an existential Earthbound reference, and honestly, I think that's beautiful.

She Found Pictures in my Email - Composer Commentary:
EDIT 13/12: Original title was a shitty Kanye reference. Fuck him and fuck antisemitisim.
Anyway, like that lyric from that one song, I hate Specimen 10 with a burning passion, because it was the most effective specimen out of all of them for me. On my playthrough of the game it was the most persistent among all of the other specimen. Playing the waiting game with this god forsaken parasite made me lose my mind (on one attempt I died at room 975!) Obviously the main inspiration for this theme was the main theme for The Thing, among John Carpenter’s other compositions. I wanted the player to feel as though this Specimen was unstoppable, similar to the pressure I felt during Specimen 7’s main event.
