Young Master here looking for yirdaki to cut down. He is, in our opinion, the best 13 year old didgeridoo player in this world. Arnold Djunbiya Marika who is also in our YouTube clips (do a search now if you wish) is also great though 3-4 years older, can't wait to see how Young Master develops in the years ahead.
First we gathered munydjutj - a green bush plum in season in the early wet season - delicious! Then the Young Master went to work, tapping on trees, cutting down a handful... we were near the mining site so you can hear the buzz of the machinery in the background lolz!
Young Master here makes his own yirdaki, at only 13 years of age. He's only beginning to grow hence his awkwardness with the axe - watch the old men use an axe and you'll see the difference.
For those not familiar with the Australian bush, hope you enjoy this vid, no koalas here (they're colder climate animals) only kangaroos and trees (and maybe the odd lizard, snake, and spider) hahaha :-)
