How FF7 Rebirth Ruined Aeris's Death scene in a nutshell. I recount the full tale here, including Schrodinger's Aeris, Zack, Advent Children, and more. The Final Fantasy Remake trilogy butchers the story, characters, pacing, tone and artistry of the OG FFVII (1997). But what they did with the Aerith climax scene is cultural vandalism. What was once the most powerful scene in video game history has been polluted by multiverse madness (and a cameo from Zack). It has been mutated into nothing more than a theory-crafting conversation piece. It embodies everything that is wrong with the FF7R project. It is is now a tasteless spectacle for Marvel fans and Disney adults. Instead of being emotionally impactful, it is now just confusing. The audience doesn't know what to think or how to feel.
