You Know You Are Latino When You... Puerto Rico, Mexico and Colombia Edition
What are the sign you are Latino? Latinos come from a variety of places, and you know you are Latino when you know we are not just the same.
In this video, I explore the signs you are from Puerto Rico, Colombia and Mexico. We will compare some of the things that make Latinos from these countries different?

What can you tell us about your country? Are you from Mexico, Puerto Rico or Colombia? Tell us the signs that make you from these places.

I will share with you the transcript of the video:
You know you are a Latino when you know not all Latinos are the same!!!

We share a lot of things! We share el chavo del 8, moms and chanclas, vick vapor rub, but Latinos are different in many ways. Today I will look at Colombia, Mexico and Puerto Rico and some of the bizarre, and maybe extravagant things that make people from these countries unique!
I must first say. I am Colombian born and raised, so I will be more accurate for my beautiful country. I apologize if I don’t get you, Puerto Ricans or Mexicans, 100% down. Please correct me and educate me. Of course all this is meant as entertainment (wink)

Let’s start with COLOMBIA. The land of Shakira, Sofia Vergara and Diego Alonso

Three things I can tell you about Colombia. First, we like to make everything diminutive. It is as if Colombians believe they are ginormous (which we are not) and everything around them was smaller. Instead of carne you say carnita, instead of sandwich you say sandiwichito , instead of 1000, 000 pesos is a 100,000 pesitos, instead of ahora it’s ahorita. Adding ito the end of the word makes things small, and in Colombia it is used to the excess even for things that are not small..
Colombian also point with our lips. Yeah I am not kidding. Americans think this is mind blowing but what do you guys do when you hands are full…? Hold a tray and point
Now, if there is something true about Colombians is that we love to talk shit about our country, but don’t you dare do it. Yeah the economy sucks, we are not educated enough, hardworking… What did you say about Colombia?????

Okay let’s move north to my friends in Mexico. The country of Chavo, Luis Miguel, delicious food and el chupacabras.
So 3 things about Mexico…
Sobremesa. Let’s start with sobremesa. So in Colombia this just means the drink that you have with a meal like water or juice… you alcoholic minded people. In Mexico sobremesa is a conversation that you have after your meal. And in Mexico it goes on and on and on and on…. And on. And on. Like for hours. No way to escape plus gossip is good.
Mexicans also have the best parties for kids. Hold on hear me out. Hear me out. So you go to celebrate Carlitos 3rd birthday… well it all starts normal there is piñata, cake, whatever… but then at 8pm when the kids are sleeping. The real party begins. Tequila and corona come out (ups) I mean beer not coronavirus. Anyways tequila and beer come out and the party goes on until 3am. Only in Mexico you go to a kids party and come out hangover. Of course not the kids.
Last but not least from the creators of vicks vapor rub. Lime. The put that on everything. Burrito. Lime. Sopa. Lime. Beer. Lime. Your Armpits. Lime…. Yeah

Last but not least we move to Puerto Rico. The Boricua Land of Hector Lavoe, salsa, reggaeton and monfongo..
Three things about Puerto Rico!
Well let’s start with something I have noticed. Puerto Ricans never master their inside voice. To the untrained ear it’s like they are always yelling but that’s the way they speak. It must be that it is breezy in Puerto Rico…. SO they need to speak up over the wind…
Puerto Ricans are the only Latinos that almost from birth are three lingual. Listen in Colombia, Mexico, most people struggle even learning English… Puerto Ricans speak Spanish, English and Spanglish. In Puerto Rico, Spanglish is an art.
If you are Puerto Rican, you were also defined by a moment of transcendental change in the existence of the Island. This is probably one of the biggest disasters faced by Puerto Rico. Your life was marked by the divorce of Hector Lavoe and J-LO. You cried your heart out, everybody questioned their marriages, their existences, their own lives, and to be fair, it is a freaking big deal. Hey are the royalty.

As I said before all of these peccadillos, excentricities make us unique. There is a lot we share, and we have to keep appreciating what unites us and what makes us different. We latinos from Jose in Alaska to Marco in southern Chile,we are all brothers and sisters.

Gracias! Comment below more excentricities about us Latinos. DOn’t forget to give us a thumbs up if you enjoyed this content and subscribe for more videos about Hispanic culture!
