Consider these verses:
“Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'” (Matthew 22:37 & Luke 10:27)
“..and with all your mind.”

You have to know someone to love them with your mind. To be inhibited from getting to know someone you're supposed to love simply doesn't make sense.
