It seems crazy at first, but when you really think about it success is overrated. What does it mean to be "successful" anyway? It should be rather easy to define, yet it still doesn't really do you any good to aim for it.

The biggest problem, in my humble opinion, is that being successful means you've "made it", that there's nowhere else to go. You've hit the top, the proverbial big time, you've conquered all there is to conquer. So, what comes next?

Maybe, instead of aiming to be "successful", we should be aiming to improve and create some SMART goals? As we achieve our goals, we can add new goals and keep moving forward.
