It feels like YouTube has really been going downhill the past few years. With the influx of ads following the ban of ad-blockers, the cookie cutter content being forced down our throats by the algorithm and the rise of worse and worse click-bait titles.
That last thing is what I want to talk about in this video. Something I've noticed recently, especially since I started paying closer attention, is that a lot of creators have started walking an even thinner line than usual when it comes to making click-bait titles. There has to be some element of click-bait to get people to click on a video in the first place, that's just a fact in 2024, but some more recent videos I've watched were closer to outright lies than the normal click-bait.
One in particular that got me referenced some possible DLC for Hogwarts Legacy that may be coming this year. The title led me to believe there was some breaking news on that topic and I was excited to see what was coming, only to be led down a rabbit hole of what the creator wanted to see instead of anything real about the game.
