The February 2022 /r/pixelmixers contest theme was sequels, and there's so many fabulous games to choose from! But this arrangement from Yoshi's Island (aka Super Mario World 2!) had been sitting around for a few years.... originally written for sax quartet, we knew it would sound absolutely adorable with our instrumentation!
Got to bust out some *beeg bass doots* along with some high flute and clarinet melody lines that are now stuck in my head forever as well as adding in some solos to flesh out the piece. Major thanks to Sean who at the last minute when I mused "hmm maybe I should add some aux percussion....." jumped right in and recorded a whole buffet of awesomeness that brought the cover to a whole new level!
We also slipped in a few nods to other Yoshi's Island tunes - can you find them all 🤔

Happy 10 years to Stardew Valley!
In honor of this milestone, V-Ron put together a sequel to the tribute album Deep in the Mines from 2023 to complete all 12 mines tracks!
I tackled Magical Shoes, which is a piece thats a bit out of my usual comfort zone but I had some wonderful friends to tag in for help and flesh out my writing on instruments I dont really understand 😅 Got to flex 3 full octaves on clarinet and had an excuse to bust out the alto and sopranino recorders which I dont always get to for some of that beeg cave sound.
Ive been really busy this last month so didnt want to add filming and editing a video on top of it, so enjoy this visualizer with some cute lil Junimos!
