Gosh why are Castlevania songs so great but I am so bad at the games??? As soon as I heard this track I fell in love, even though I'd never in a million years stand a chance even getting into the castle if I was to play the game (sorry Dracula your house is too scary) Due to scheduling issues, it's just clarinets this time around. But goodness gracious I really just adore this theme and love how the arrangement came out and the interplay between the three parts.
For those keeping track at home, this was indeed done on the A clarinet - not as much due to the key the piece is in (though that certainly was a pleasant side effect) but so I could reach that low concert C# yeah we bringing out the l o w b o i s this month.
Big props to endlessrepeat for once again joining in for the shenanigans I come up with!
So as a certified non-Castlevania player, I was surprised to learn this was actually stage music and not used in a cutscene or something more calm. Apparently it's stages that are bizarro land (?) - this plays in the Reverse Caverns and the Anti-Chapel, and Reverse Castle's Forbidden Library. I didn't think the playthroughs matched the vibe so this is the rare cover with no gameplay footage.
