How To Increase Click-Through Rate For New YouTubers
Look, it comes across as a bit intense but it’s really important that new YouTubers hear that… You do not matter.
The sooner you understand how little you matter, the sooner you can actually start growing your channel… which is ironic because to be a YouTuber you need to be narcissistic enough to believe you’re worth watching
Let me explain… when your thumbnail and title appear on the homepage…. How many people actually recognize your face that you plastered in the thumbnail? Why would someone click on your vlog trip to the beach? Or episode 69 of your five nights at Freddie's playthrough?
So one of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to separate your own personality and understanding of the content, and then instead put yourself in the shoes of someone who has no idea who you are, what your content is about, or anything.

While Hype is open to all channels between 500 and 500,000 subscribers in the partner program, what it does differently is depending on the size of the channel, 1 user clicking Hype generates a different amount of hype points.

How To Hype A YouTube Video as a Viewer
Every viewer can hype 3 times a week for free, either across 3 videos, or entirely on a single video, obviously if the channel meets the criteria mentioned earlier.
When they do, they’ll be told how many points it will generate, and how close to the top 100 that video is.
To see the hype button, other than the earlier criteria, the viewer also has to meet certain criteria:
Currently, you have to use the latest mobile app, because it is still being rolled out to desktop.
You can’t be a brand account, because otherwise people can spam “fake” accounts to boost hype.
And that’s it, if you have that, you can click hype, pump a video 3 times, and then you have to wait for it to reset… which interestingly the reset is the same time for everyone every week, Monday 12AM Local time.
How to see how much Hype my YouTube Video has?
Go to the new YouTube video, click analytics, engagement, and scroll down to see the Hype analytic. An important note is this analytic appears to be a full 24-48 hours behind.

How To Add A Webcam To Streamlabs OBS and OBS
To add our webcam to Streamlabs OBS or OBS, go-to sources, click add source, add a new video source, and select your webcam from the list, you have your webcam, now you need to change the settings.
We need to turn off all of the automatic settings. Right-click the camera source, properties, change the default to custom, now you can edit the resolution to be 1920 by 1080, OR 720. If you plan to crop in on your camera or zoom in like we want to do later in this video, 1080 is probably the resolution you want, but it is more intensive on your PC so I do recommend 720p for most people.
Next is FPS, I noticed some lag issues with I set this to highest but they went away if I set it to match the source, OR set it to 30.
Colour space you’ll want 709, and finally, the color range is set to full. This will give you your base webcam inside Streamlabs OBS or OBS.

How To Change White Balance Inside Streamlabs OBS or OBS
Essentially different lights produce different color temperatures, you need to set your webcam or any camera to match that white balance so that you get accurate colors.
Normally set my key light up so that it is producing daylight or white color of around 4500 kelvin, and I will set my white balance to something similar in my camera. For now, there are charts you can use to help but essentially the mistake is that people don’t set this manually meaning the webcams and camera often try to adjust it automatically and the camera gets it VERY wrong!
It’s why sometimes you are super orange or super pale, the webcam has gone “This looks about 3600 kelvin!” when in reality it might be 5500 kelvin but it thinks 3600 because it saw an orange poster and thought it was white. To adjust this manually, you’ll go into your webcam settings and find it here, make sure automatic is off, and drag it around till you find the right balance for you.

Today, we’re going to be setting up OBS's new feature "Audio Application Capture" that allows you to capture individual applications on your PC and route those different audio sources carefully into different channels inside OBS, allowing you to have much better control over your audio. I am also going to show you how to set up your OBS recordings to have separate audio tracks for your game, music, discord, and microphone audio in OBS.

What are Virtual Audio Channels?
If you’re a beginner think of it like this, when you plug a microphone into your Computer, you get a Microphone Source that you can add to OBS, and if you plug a second Mic in, you get a second microphone source to add as well. Two different sources, two different mics.
Sonar creates new virtual audio sources on your computer, like adding a microphone, but rather than sending your voice to that source, you’re sending your computer programs that create audio, so your games, spotify, google chrome, you name it.
How To Add Global Audio Sources To OBS
Open OBS, Click Settings, go to Audio, and select your microphone.
I want you to remove your mic, and all your other captures, set them to disabled, and instead just add SteelSeries Sonar - Stream to Mic/Aux Audio 1, from there, click apply, and you’ll see this single audio level at the bottom.

Why Is Twitch Discovery Not Good for Small Streamers
Twitch sorts their categories by most viewers, which means it is what we call a Kingmaker system, essentially when one Streamer gets lots of viewers, they rise to the top of the category or get more recommendations causing them to get more viewers who come browsing Twitch.
So beginners or small streamers often sit right down at the bottom of the categories and never get any clicks, because nobody scrolls down 20,000 streamers to find them, and nobody uses the filters over here to check by recommended or smallest despite what you might hope.
In reality, very few even check categories, most Viewers actually go straight to their Follower List or Favourite streamer meaning discovery on Twitch is relatively slow to start out.
Think about it, when you type twitch.tv into your bar, it usually auto-completes to your favourite streamers channel, not to a specific category or the homepage.
This kingmaker system has led to A LOT of outcry from smaller creators asking Twitch to do more for them and their discovery and in turn the same reason why educators such as myself or harris often push you guys to diversify across other platforms with algorithms such as TikTok or YouTube… even if you hate that advice with all your heart.

What Is The New Twitch 2K Update?
After nearly a year of privately testing 2K or 1440p streaming, Twitch has announced they are ready to roll out the service to Partners and affiliates, starting right now. This is a landmark occasion, as Twitch has only supported a maximum of 1080p streaming for nearly a decade.
Twitch has said they'll be increasing the bitrate to support 1440p, use a newer HEVC codec, and the new Twitch enhanced broadcasting tools to allow stream quality to adjust automatically for viewers.
What Is The New Twitch Affiliate Update?
New Creators were required to reach 50 Followers, stream a minimum of 7 days, stream for a minimum of 8 hours, and reach an average viewership of 3… all within 30 days… this arguably monumental task kept many from being able to monetise their channels.
Now, New Streamers will only need 3 Average viewers, across 4 streams for 4 days, for 4 hours, and only 25 Followers before they can begin spamming their tiny audience with unskippable, painful repetitive Ads.
Twitch also explained that later this year, every streamer, affiliate or not, will be given access to monetisation and community features such as emotes, and channel points, essentially making none of this matter.
The only difference between a non-affiliate, and affiliate moving forward will simply be that any income earned by Non-affiliates must be spent on Twitch by the streamer on other streamers, and cannot be paid out.

Why Should You Upgrade A Microphone First?
We are assuming that you have a PC that can run a decent stream quality, then the most important purchase is a good microphone, if someone drops by and you are streaming 720p or even 480p they are usually okay with it, but if your audio hurts their ears or doesn’t sound right I promise you they will leave.
There are plenty of affordable USB mics that sound amazing, and you can take them to even better heights when you apply the right filters that are free and come with OBS and Slobs, our recommendation in this video is the Fifine K688

Why The Fifine K688 Is The Best Microphone for Streamers
Starting with the basics, the Fifine K688 is a Dynamic Mic, not a condenser microphone, essentially Dynamic microphones are less sensitive than Condenser microphones, which means sometimes they need to be closer and might require a bit more gain, but these aren’t bad things.
Dynamic mics are better in untreated or amateur rooms, like home offices, bedrooms, bathrooms aka your Stream rooms. They are also better at dealing with background noise.
Cardioid means it handles sound right out the front here, and doesn’t pick up sound from behind, or well under it, it still gets audio from the sides but not much. Not all mics are like this, one of the more popular Mics you all know like the Blue Yeti Snowball which can be omnidirectional, which, means it picks up audio from all around.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

What Are The Best Webcams and Lights For Streamers?
Your lighting is really what is going to make or break your webcam or camera quality, you can get some cheap LED panels from Neewer such as the Neewer GL25B, or the Neewer GL1 Pro, Or GL1C Panels.
I use the Logitech C922 Pro, and then use these little LED light panels to light myself.
This little light is enough to light my face, and then I manually set my webcam settings which you really should be doing as well, slap a custom LUT I made for myself to make the colours look nice, and we’re good to go.
The lights behind me aren’t as bright so I stand out and they make the background look nice, which is important. You should try to make your background look nice or look at grabbing a cheap green screen.

How To Grow On Twitch?
If you want to grow your Twitch stream, it is important to be critical. Being critical isn’t a bad thing, people say, “Oh don’t be so critical of yourself!”.
But there are a lot of things you can control and improve, such as your visuals, audio, and most importantly your content that you’re creating. Watch back your VoD and be honest with yourself, is it up to scratch. Does your mic sound good? Are you engaging? Is it easy to watch and enjoy or is there something that is off-putting? Be honest, push yourself to grow, and become a better entertainer!
Because at the end of the day, the only way you are going to grow your stream is by growing yourself and being critical in a positive way.
What Bitrate And Settings Should I Use For Streaming?
The easiest way to understand bitrate is by calling what it actually is, your upload speed to the Twitch servers.
Now you’ll need a higher bitrate depending on how high quality you want your stream to be, this means 1080p 60 frames per second will need a bitrate of 6000, which roughly equals 6megabits upload speed on your end being taken up
By lowering your resolution and framerate, you can make it a lot easier to stream, for example, if you set your base canvas size to 1920x1080, but change your output to 1280x720 otherwise known as 720p you drop down to only needing a bitrate of 4500 or 4.5megabits.
If you still want 1080, you can even just lower your framerate from 60fps to 30fps and then adjust to 4500bitrate.

How To Use Twitch Disconnect Protection
You know how sometimes your internet isn’t perfect, and it has those little stutters and drop outs? Well, when that happens Twitch sometimes kicks the stream offline, and you need to kick it back online, which splits VoDs and is just a bad user experience…
But there is a solution, if you can’t solve the internet issues, you can at least stop being kicked off Twitch entirely with Disconnect protection, head to Stream Dashboard, Settings, Stream, and turn on Disconnect Protection. Now when you stutter, cut out, or drop out, you’ve got 90 seconds to reconnect, and the users will see a little screen that helps them know you’re coming back!
And bonus, right underneath is Latency mode which changes the delay between you and what your viewers see, if you can handle it internet-wise, low latency mode makes responding to chat much faster, more interactive, and it’s great for community engagement.

What Is The Difference Between Direct and Relay Multistreaming?
Relay means you’re streaming from OBS, for example, to a service, like Restream, and then that service will stream to the platforms you link to it.
The pro of this is that you’re just encoding and streaming one stream, and letting the service handle the rest, this means no added stress on your PC or internet, another great pro is Restream will combine your platform chats for you, and even give you a browser source to put it on screen for viewers, granted it looks like ass but hey, better than nothing, now the cons though are for starters services like Restream tend to lock really important features behind paywalls, they tend to be horribly unstable constantly crashing one or multiple platforms, at least in my experience, but worst of all, they lock your streams quality to the lowest platform.
We get around this instead by doing the second type of Multistreaming, Direct.
Essentially, you’ll use a plugin, in today’s case Aitium, to create several streams that go out to different platforms. The major pro here is the ability to customise settings for each platform, but this also means more stress on your PC and Internet as you’re literally streaming to multiple places.
Another Con is that plugins only work with OBS, because Streamlabs locked plugin support behind paywalls to force streamers to pay them money, and use their terrible services… like their shitty multistreaming tool.

What Is The BEST Encoder For Streamer?
The best encoder for streaming depends heavily on your computer's hardware, the two main options are x264 and Nvidia NVENC.
The major difference here is x264 uses your CPU and it can be very taxing, but Nvidia NVENC uses a special chip on your Graphics card, it is a different part of your graphics card and has nothing to do with your game performance so it won’t hurt your gameplay and vice versa, but not every graphics card is NVENC capable. Elgato has a great list and tool to help find if yours is capable

What is Stream Together?
Stream Together lets you collaborate with up to 5 other Streamers, and even Chatters while live and actually sort’ve offline as well, I used this a lot offline in testing. To get right into it, if you go to your Creator Dashboard, and click Stream Together, then click this Start button, it will open all your settings and controls, where you can invite people just as voice, or actually include their webcam as well, if they give permission and set it up like we will later.
Now the Streamer you invite, if they have Twitch open should receive a notification in the top right similar to a go live letting them accept, or if they don’t have it open, it will appear in their notification section next to messages.

These are essentially impromptu on the fly collabs, while streaming, you can check your follower list, or even just drop by another creators stream, and if they are allowing you to offer a collab, you can click Knock, they’ll get a private notification, and if they accept, you’ll both instantly be dropped in a call with just audio, but if you added the browser source I mentioned earlier, you’ll also get video inside OBS, of course again, if you and the other creator approve that and have it setup..
This of course is also done in reverse, you can set this up so only people you approve can “knock” on your stream, and you the streamer will receive a private notification.

How to turn off Stream Together and Drop-Ins?
Head to Stream Manager Dashboard, click add Panel, add a collaborations panel, and here you can set permissions and pause settings
For myself, by default, the permissions were set to Channels I follow, but I turned that off, and just selected favourites, then using this add favourites button I added 4 of my friends, giving them permission to knock or “ask to collaborate”, If I select “Favorites Only” and I didn’t add anyone to favourites, it means NOBODY could knock. I do wish that when they rolled this out by default it was “favourites only” and I have passed this on directly to Twitch, but it’s a fairly quick fix at least.
Also, if I don’t want my favourites to knock, I can pause for an hour, or just this stream, I would love it if there was a “Pause Until I turn back on” and have requested that from Twitch.

I did all of this without telling a single person or pre-existing audience about the channel, completely faceless, and I did it entirely using Browse traffic, aka I got viewers from the YouTube homepage to click my video, which is the most powerful traffic source. Let's talk about how I did that today with my 7 rules.

How To Grow Your YouTube Subs With Community Polls
A major secret when it comes to appealing to the masses, and beginning to grow the audience your content goes out to is actually the Community Posts tool on YouTube… specifically I am in love with the Community Poll tools.
I’ve been using Community Polls here on SSN for over 2.5 years now, I post polls to understand you, your interests, troubles, and it often helps me make content more targeted to your interests…
But it also builds huge impressions on the channel, and after snowballing years of polls back to back, you can go from getting 100 votes, 200 votes, all the way up to 6000 votes per poll… now before anyone says anything, you can scroll back I was using community polls BEFORE Spiffing Brit released his video on how broken and overpowered they are.
Once you have all those votes consistently, you can start adding in your videos that match the Poll topic to boost their views, because a lot of these polls don’t just go to subscribers but also non-subscribers who are interested in the topics the polls cover.

What Is DMCA and Copyright?
DMCA and Copyright strikes are nothing new to the internet or content creation, and Youtube does have better ways to handle copyright and the striking process but Twitch isn’t the problem here, and complaining won’t help so let’s get into what even is copyright strikes and DMCA?
Well, without digging too deep into the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, it is designed to stop people from broadcasting or using other people's copyright material without the appropriate rights.
This means you need to play the music that you have the appropriate rights to. Either you’ve purchased a license like some of the platforms we will cover today, or you will use one of the hundreds of royalty-free services also talked about today. And no, Youtube premium, Spotify premium, etc are not a license to broadcast music.

What Games Work Best With Twitch Chat Controls?
You can do this with pretty much any game that uses a keyboard, but it does work better with simpler games, with simpler controls, especially those that don’t use the mouse to look around, so take Pokemon, this is incredibly easy because its A B up down left right start and select, that’s just 8 buttons for chat to use.
But, if you’re setting up Minecraft like we are today, well it has a lot of different keys, and you need to not just press but hold down certain keys as well.
So, be aware, you’ll get everything you need in this video to do more complex games, but if you’re a beginner, consider starting on a simple game.

How To Setup Chat Commands To Control Games
If we go to the Commands section of StreamerBot, we can right click add, and here we can setup a new command,
Lets name this !Space and add it to the command box, now I want them to be able to put that command anywhere in the message, so over to the right and set the location to anywhere rather than being forced to have it at the start of the message, and then I can change the permissions, for this we want anyone so we don’t change it, but if we wanted only paying subscribers to be able to use a command, to say drop all your tools, you’d click subs and move them to this column.
Now, over on sources I will check Twitch message, and because I linked my twitch account that will mean only my twitch chat, but you can pick YouTube if you’re using YouTube as the test.
Below that I can set a global cooldown which is how long all users have to wait to use the command again, or if I just want it so one user can’t keep triggering it, I can set a user cooldown. Don’t set these too high or else people get bored waiting, but don’t set it too low, because then anyone can spam. If you only have a few viewers though some spams not too bad.
Once I’m happy, I click Ok.

How To Use Hotkeys In OBS To Trigger Sources, Scenes, and more
Head to your Settings and click Hot Keys, search up the source you want to show or hide, for example my CAMERA, you’ll see a SHOW HIDE for the OBS Source, we’re going to hotkey each to something we don’t touch often or by accident, so CTRL SHIFT 1 for show and hide, and click apply.
Now when we press CTRL SHIFT 1, OBS will show or hide that source because of the Filter. These hotkeys can be used to trigger scenes, music, sound effects, and even combine all these at once.

Let’s start with the easiest, but also one of the most effective ways to help add a bit more emphasis and engagement to whatever you are doing. I come from a Filmmaking background and one of the major techniques we use is shot size, we film wides, mediums, and close ups then cut between them to add emphasis or feeling to a statement.
To do this live, all you need to do is grab your camera, duplicate it, and layer it on top of the old camera. Zoom the camera in a bit, and then you can keybind it either in your settings to toggle the source on and off, as seen on screen now, go to Settings, Select Hotkeys, then find your scene you’re working in, find the layer, and then hotkey it to a button you don’t use such as your Numpad, or you can use an Elgato StreamDeck or StreamDeck alternative to do it very easily.

There are plenty of affordable USB mics that sound amazing, and you can take them to even better heights when you apply the right filters that are free and come with OBS and Slobs, our recommendation in this video is the Samson Q2u.

What Are The Best Webcams and Lights For Streamers?
Your lighting is really what is going to make or break your webcam or camera quality, you can get some cheap LED panels from Neewer 90W or the Dazznee D50's Panels are great as well.

What Are Follow Bots, Hate Raids, And Bot Follows On Twitch?
A Follow Bot is usually when an individual sends dozens, sometimes thousands of fake followers to a Streamer while they are live to troll them or to trigger their alerts for the next few hours.
A Bot Raid is when an individual sends dozens, sometimes thousands of bot accounts to your chat to not only follow you, but also spam hateful comments, slurs, or sometimes a random string of numbers.

How To Stop Bots On Twitch
While live I recommend everyone has the Stream Manager Dashboard open, this allows you access to a lot of quick action buttons that will make most of this safe, yours might not look like mine here on the right but you can add any Quick Action Buttons by clicking the +
So you’re hit with a Bot Raid, your alerts are going off and your chat is being spammed, the first thing you’re going to do is turn on Follower Only Mode meaning only users who follow can chat, this is literally the only time I will ever tell you to use Follower only by the way.
If you use the quick action it usually defaults that there is no cooldown between following and chatting, so I actually recommend turning Follower Only chat by going down below your chatbox, clicking the cog, selecting Follower Only, and selecting 10 minutes.
This should stop the bot messages for now.
Next, you’ll want to click the Clear Chat History Quick action button, this will wipe away all of the messages that were sent originally. I will show you how you can rally your community to also help in a second but first, you’ll also want to skip alerts.

The final step is to mark the time In-Stream using a marker quick action so you can find the section later for reporting the accounts or removing the follows using CommanderRoot.

Now in 2024, so much has changed again, there are so many options for streaming software and alert platforms, which all do wildly different things.
Today I want to break down four years' worth of streaming and content creation experience, to cover the major streaming software, their pros, and cons, whether they good for beginners, will other streamers bully you for using it, do they cause your game to lag, can they make you grow faster, what alert platforms go well with them, what drama have these brands gotten into, and which is the absolute best for you to use
Because I don’t think there is a simple answer anymore.

Should I Use Streamlabs OBS For Streaming?
Streamlabs OBS is incredibly beginner-focused, you might look at the user interface and say it is confusing but I promise you this is so much simpler for a beginner to get set up, It comes with all the tools you’ll need to start streaming, literally built into it.
It comes with a Chatbox to monitor your chat, event queue to monitor followers, subs, etc. If you want to add alerts? Just add an Alert box widget, if you want to have your chat on screen? You can add a chat box widget easily! You do not need to install a single plugin to get up and running.
Streamlabs OBS is a fantastic program for beginners but due to its bloated nature, glitches, widget issues, and more, it can be frustrating for beginners to try fix issues that occur, and tends to use far more CPU resources which can cause Stream lagg.

Should I Use Streamlabs Or OBS For Streaming?
If you are a beginner or you aren’t looking to get incredibly technical with your streams, or you want to get up and running quickly with everything in the same place then install and use Streamlabs OBS OR use StreamElements OBS.live because both will get you set up instantly if you want to get custom and create advanced technical aspects to add to your stream go with OBS Studio because it is more customizable, it has more plugin support and is more stable.
How Do You Import .Overlay Files Into OBS? Studio
OBS also lacks an easy way to install overlays, BUT if you have a .overlay you can install that into Streamlabs OBS, and then open both programs.
From there, go to OBS, click Scene Collection, select import, OBS will either pull up all your overlays but IF IT DOESN’T, you can manually go to where SLOBs is default installing overlays, the default folder structure is below, once selected it will bring up all your overlays, and you can select which to import into OBS.
Default SLOBS location for scenes is;
C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\slobs-client\SceneCollections

What Bitrate Should I Use For Streaming?

There are plenty of affordable USB mics that sound amazing, and you can take them to even better heights when you apply the right filters that are free and come with OBS and Slobs, our recommendation in this video is the Samson Q2u.

5:55 How To Capture Consoles And Cameras With The BridgeCast X
6:20 Why Mixers Capturing Consoles Is The Future
Why The Samson Q2u Is The Best Microphone for Streamers
Starting with the basics, the Samson Q2u is a Dynamic Mic, not a condenser microphone, essentially Dynamic microphones are less sensitive than Condenser microphones, which means sometimes they need to be closer and might require a bit more gain, but these aren’t bad things.
What Mixer Should New Streamers Buy?
This device has somehow snuck under everyones radar, despite it being made by a professional audio company, despite it being able to do EVERYTHING the GoXLR could, and despite it being half the price of the GoXLR, is the Roland Bridgecast.
The Bridgecast sells for $420 AUD, so about $250USD, making it REALLY competitive since its two main competitors are the GoXLR which the full size still costs roughly 800AUD, and the Rodecaster Pro II, which is anywhere between 900 - 1200AUD.
Now, you’d think this means the little device is going to lack a lot of what those two tools have, but it is actually the opposite, for example, It provides 75db of gain for your microphones, whereas the Rodecaster Pro ii and GoXLR do 76db and 72db respectively.
And, Much like the GoXLR, and Rodecaster, it has full voice effects, such as reverb, pitch shifting, etc. I’ll again, cover this more later.
The BridgeCast comes with EQ and mic adjustment tools are all the expected ones, compressors, noise reduction, de-essers, etc, and it is also a dual bus Mixer… this means two separate audio mixes, so one can be sent to you, and then a completely different mix to your stream individually.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

How To Crop In On Your Camera In OBS

How to Set Video Resolution, Bitrate, and Settings To Stream On OBS
Go to the Video Tab, here you will set your resolution, Canvas is the resolution of this black box where you’ll put your game, Output is the resolution you transmit to viewers. The two most common are 1080p and 720p, if you have a decent PC you can use 1080p likely no problem so set both to that, but if not, set output to 720.
You have FPS here, higher doesn’t mean better, set this based on how much action and motion you’ll have, and how good your PC is, 60 for more action, 30 for less.
Now click Output, these are where we control the settings you will use for your stream, keep this in Simple mode.
Bitrate will determine most of your streams quality, there is a link in the description to an article by twitch to show you bitrate settings for different resolutions. Personally, if your doing fast action gameplay, I recommend 720p output, and between 4500 - 6000 bitrate, if the gameplay is slower and lacks lots of movement, 1080p and 6000 bitrate.
Twitch Bitrate is technically softcapped at 6000, and hard capped at 8000, 1000 bits is a 1mb, so you need an upload speed that can handle the bitrate you set plus wiggle room, so for 6000 bitrate around 10 - 12mb to stream at the soft cap safely.
If you have a newer Nvidia graphics card, you’ll select NVENC H264 here, if you can’t use Nvenc, you’ll use x264 which means CPU encoding.
Encoder Preset if your PC can handle it, you can set this to best quality, if not a nice starting point is Slow, and lower it if you notice issues.

How To Add Game Capture To OBS For Twitch Streams
Go to the sources panel in the bottom middle of OBS, and click the Plus to add a source, you’ll see 3 ways to capture your game, first is game capture, if you add that and then open it, it lets you either automatically capture games, or pick a specific window. Some games won’t work with game capture, in that case you’ll use either Display Capture or Window Capture.

How To Use A Phone As A Webcam In OBS & Streamlabs For FREE
The three options we’re using today are called VDO Ninja, Epoccam, and Epoccam Pro.
First, let’s cover VDO Ninja, this is an entirely web based tool, and it’s also entirely free.
To use it, you’re going to get your streaming PC, and your phone, then on your streaming PC, open a browser and go to VDO.Ninja, linked in the description.
You’re going to be met with a few options, for today, just click create a room. Type in a super secret room name, and password, then if you want a specific video codec pick that, or leave it on default.
Once that’s done, click join as Director, now you’re met with a few options, it says invite guest, capture group scene, it has guests down here, but we’re going to click Copy link on the invite guest, then message that to ourselves via email, or discord, or just something you can access from your phone.
Then open your phone, go to the message, copy the link, and paste it into your phones browser.
From there, you join room with camera, and can give it permission to use your camera, then click start, and it should appear on the website where guest 1 was.
Now to add this to your stream you’ll go to OBS, or if you’re using a different tool like streamlabs go there, and click add source, add browser source, copy the link from capture group scene into the browser source, set the resolution to 1920 by 1080, click refresh scene when active, control audio via OBS, and click save.

This means we need to find a new mixer that can do everything the GOXLR can do and more, it needs to handle demanding microphones like the Shure Sm7b, it needs powerful EQ for buttery crisp vocals, it needs silly voice effects, and multiple programmable tracks for perfect audio control, that was the journey I set out on…
But, little did I know this would mean months of research, experimenting with dozens of different software, microphones, mixers, and wasting hundreds of dollars, but now, I think I’ve found it, the device that will do EVERYTHING the GoXLR did, and more for half the price.

There are plenty of affordable USB mics that sound amazing, and you can take them to even better heights when you apply the right filters that are free and come with OBS and Slobs, our recommendation in this video is the Samson Q2u.

8:33 What Is Sub Mixing or Dual Bus Mixing?
Why The Samson Q2u Is The Best Microphone for Streamers
Starting with the basics, the Samson Q2u is a Dynamic Mic, not a condenser microphone, essentially Dynamic microphones are less sensitive than Condenser microphones, which means sometimes they need to be closer and might require a bit more gain, but these aren’t bad things.

It’s called the “Spotlight Effect” and it effects every single person on the planet, it stops you doing all of things you want to do not just in content creation, but in life.
The idea of the spotlight effect is simple, it’s the feeling like you’ve been pushed out onto a stage, the spotlight has hit you, and the entire audience is sat quietly judging every action you do, you’re breathing manually, aware of your tongue resting on your teeth, and you don’t know what to do with your hands.
I learned about this effect 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with an Acute Anxiety condition, all of the things I loved to do I couldn’t out of the intense fear of being judged, but 4 years later, some therapy, and a lot of effort every single day, I am now a full-time content creator.

What Video Encoder to Use to Record Gameplay In Streamlabs
To make this straightforward, If you’re using any Nvidia card past the GTX 600, which was released in 2012, so likely any Nvidia card being used on a semi-new PC, you’re going to pick Nvenc H.264. This means you’re using a special chip on your graphics card to encode footage, this chip is separate and just used solely for encoding decoding, so it won’t affect your gameplay performance.
And, If you’re using a graphics card from before that, you’ll likely use x264 which will be using your CPU to encode or decode.
What Bitrate to use to Record Gameplay In Streamlabs
In the Encoder settings, you have Rate control, this will be CBR by default, which means you’re recording at the same bitrate all the time, and below that you set the bitrate of your choice, I found for 1080p 60fps that 16,000 - 18,000 gave me excellent quality for editing my gameplay footage later, but any higher was useless, but 8000 bitrate still gave me useable clean footage so if your PC is struggling, start there.
If you want to get a little more complicated in recordings, instead select CQP, which in short is smarter and will change the bitrate as needed so you’re not wasting data, this does mean rather than setting a bitrate you’re setting a CQ level, in short, low numbers here mean higher quality footage, high numbers mean lower quality, I found recording at 15 gave me footage that was perfect, and indistinguishable to viewers, but 20 will also give you totally useable footage, if your PC can’t handle 15, start at 20, and slowly lower it.

Podcast Editor is what’s called a “text-based editor”, these are becoming more and more common in recent years because they are so fast, simple, and most importantly accessible to new Creators, it takes a long time to learn to edit after all, but what Podcast Editor does, is transcribes your entire clip, then you highlight segments, click delete… and just makes the edit to the video for you.

What Makes A Youtube Thumbnail Clickable?
The most important thing you have to think about is your audience, or if you don’t have an audience yet, your key demographic and what is going to make them click on your thumbnail.
What intent do they have, and what can you do to match that intent and get the click.
First let’s ask the most important question, Who is your key demographic? What does your Key Demographic want? And How can you appeal to them as a creator? This is how you create Youtube thumbnails to get more views!
My actionable tip here is that you need to think about your key demographic and audience, then make a thumbnail that appeals to them, not just looks beautiful, most of my thumbnails from a graphic design standpoint kinda aren't great but they appeal to their audience so they do well.

How to Make a Thumbnail for YouTube Videos?
YouTube thumbnails are an incredibly important element of your video optimization. One of the most important aspects to getting a Youtube video to rank in search or be suggested in the algorithm is your CTR or Click-through rate, this means you need an amazing thumbnail to make people click your videos!
When it comes to making a good Youtube Thumbnail, it is important to remember to keep it simple, and that means it is so important to simplify them down as much as possible.
My three major rules of a good simple thumbnail.
1. A clear simple background
2. Only 3 major elements, such as Face, Visuals, and text.
3. Remove any visuals that don’t help tell the story of the video
Don't forget that Youtube Thumbnails end up much smaller when uploaded, so the larger and simpler you can make your Thumbnails the better they'll perform meaning a higher Click-through rate and more views in general.
