A year ago I bought a branch of Yew. This has been cut into smaller pieces and the ends sealed whilst they dry. This piece broke off one of the pieces, which is probably where the wood split as it was being cut down. Not one to waste wood, I kept it on the shelf to dry and now decided to see if I could actually make anything from it.
It was rather thin in places so a small trim to square it off a little and then turned this into a very small odd shaped shallow platter. Sanded to 600 grit and finished with Lemon Oil.
