I believe I've uploaded a megacollab or two with ElMatoSWAG in them, but I haven't uploaded a solo level by him before now. However, I have seen some of his works before, such as "Nightosphere". That had sick visuals, especially in terms of art and animation, which made it a very cool Auto level. With that in mind, I was expecting something a little like that going into "Yeux", and I wasn't disappointed.
From the first part, the block designs are actually what caught my eyes. They have custom 3D shapes with details that compliment this choice. The colors are also very nice. In background and other decorations it's quite simple, but these aspects change rapidly and fittingly to the song. Further in, I did get some of the art and animation that I was expecting, such as at 0:20 and 0:39. This character looks cool and is made dynamic with the animations. These bits made me expect a proper bossfight later on, but it's still cool to just see it animated for a couple attacks. As for other visuals of these later parts, the block designs and colors remain interesting while introducing some foreground effects synchronized to the more intense parts of the song.
Gameplay-wise, I found this quite enjoyable. The gameplay is very clear without any confusing parts. For difficulty, it mostly relies on many clicks in fast succession, and many of these are for orbs. Unfortunately, some parts here and there feel a little buggy if you click an orb or two a little too early or late. Being a bit more lenient on inputs could've been beneficial. Once you've got the timings down, though, it feels very smooth to play thanks to the synchronization with the visuals and song. It's aimed at and requested for Demon difficulty, but it may be bordering towards Insane difficulty as of now. Either way, it will probably get an Epic rating.

When Serponge showed me The New Dawn, he said he was working on a more conventional level, or at least a less experimental one, that would be done soon. Knowing him, though, I figured it would be something crazy impressive regardless. This is definitely a level you should experience in-game yourself. It will probably be a Medium Demon.
I didnt see too many previews of this before trying it, but I was aware of the sliding mechanic and the custom flags (seen from 0:54). However, playing it yourself is completely different than just seeing it; its a bit tricky to get the jumps and timings right while switching between sliding left and right, all downwards, but its incredibly fun when you get it right. I usually think of Platformers requiring you to reach the peak, but this is about getting to the bottom by sliding, and Serponge executed this very well. You will probably die a lot of times near the bottom of each slide (and close to each checkpoint), but its worth it in my opinion. Doing it right is really satisfying, and when you get each part right, the further parts keep surprising in visuals, audio, and new challenges, such as introducing ice and wind.
The main song is made by Serponge himself alongside TheDevon, which sets the stage for the atmosphere really well. Theres of course some great SFX usage as well, making the whole level come alive. After seeing the potential of these systems in play, Im really glad RobTop added SFX and the ability to change music whenever. Talented creators like Serponge will definitely keep surprising, and Im hyped to play even more fun and creative 2.2 levels!
