I uploaded "HEMI" by X1RON about 18 months ago, which surprised me in its cool effects and transitions, as well as overall progression over 2 minutes. His new level, "SayItback", is about 1 minute longer, coming in at 2:48 in length. For an effect-based level, I'd expect this length to be difficult to pull off well; it can be hard to make new and interesting effect-based parts for 3 minutes. However, I'd say X1RON executed it greatly here. While some parts repeat and others are a bit more boring, most of the parts are brand new with some cool effect in the background or foreground. The transitions between parts are still as good too, making it feel cohesive from part to part. There's nothing to complain about in colors either.
I did give this a shot in practice a few days ago, but I have to say that I'm not a big fan of levels this long with some tricky parts, especially near the end, personally. With my limited time, it'd be hard to beat and upload this as soon as it deserves considering the quality. Special thanks to Floppy for coming through and recording it as always. As mentioned, there are some tricky parts near the end, particularly the robot at 1:36 and the cube at 2:25, which should be practiced. The fast speed makes some memorization required quite far into the level. Overall, the gameplay is quite balanced, though, so if you don't mind longer levels, this is definitely worth trying out. I'd say this will be a higher end Medium Demon, and with the quality in mind, it will definitely get an Epic rating.

When Serponge showed me The New Dawn, he said he was working on a more conventional level, or at least a less experimental one, that would be done soon. Knowing him, though, I figured it would be something crazy impressive regardless. This is definitely a level you should experience in-game yourself. It will probably be a Medium Demon.
I didnt see too many previews of this before trying it, but I was aware of the sliding mechanic and the custom flags (seen from 0:54). However, playing it yourself is completely different than just seeing it; its a bit tricky to get the jumps and timings right while switching between sliding left and right, all downwards, but its incredibly fun when you get it right. I usually think of Platformers requiring you to reach the peak, but this is about getting to the bottom by sliding, and Serponge executed this very well. You will probably die a lot of times near the bottom of each slide (and close to each checkpoint), but its worth it in my opinion. Doing it right is really satisfying, and when you get each part right, the further parts keep surprising in visuals, audio, and new challenges, such as introducing ice and wind.
The main song is made by Serponge himself alongside TheDevon, which sets the stage for the atmosphere really well. Theres of course some great SFX usage as well, making the whole level come alive. After seeing the potential of these systems in play, Im really glad RobTop added SFX and the ability to change music whenever. Talented creators like Serponge will definitely keep surprising, and Im hyped to play even more fun and creative 2.2 levels!

I havent said this anywhere before, but Cycles by DJVI is one of my personal favorite main level songs. The buildup is really cool and the beat at 0:44 is very memorable to me, so Im glad that especially the latter was captured well in this. The massive wheels seen here are designed in a really cool and unique way, and the mixing of yellow and blue is great, making the part the highlight of the level for me. Of course, the rest of the level is also really high quality. The transition at 0:56 has some sick animation and art, and the subsequent parts movements fit this part of the song perfectly. Earlier parts, such as at 0:30, is even more unique than the ones Ive mentioned so far. Overall, I have to say that this is the least cohesive RobTopArchiver level thus far, as the parts dont fit too well together. However, that does make it the most varied, and its still really high quality and unique in each part. Its definitely a worthy part of the original main levels released thus far. This one also relies on memorization for most of its difficulty, but its slightly easier than jumper copy, being around Hard Demon in difficulty.
