It is baffling to me how strongly this temple can resist storage when you just take away hovering and the clip in the first room.
I noticed a spot where I thought I could potentially ledge clip to get storage: https://i.imgur.com/h96LPdV.png
I had dismissed most ledges like this in the temple for a few reasons: either they appeared to be walled in, they had no floor underneath, or the ledge did not continue all the way to the floor. But I noticed this one looked like it had an opening: https://i.imgur.com/AUSDMMn.png
So the idea was to clip oob in the main room and swim towards the room where you get the boss key (in this instance, I am fighting the current, so I need to do dolphin dives). Once I am a certain distance from the edge of the water, I do a dolphin dive and cancel my swim. That carries me out of the water, but still able to start another swim. From here, I can do flying zora to navigate oob, but I still must be above floor at all times as link is still in a swimming state. An important detail about the boss key room is that the ceiling of this room is just low enough that I can do flying zora over it. I then navigate over the pipeline that leads to the other waterwheel room. Once I clip into the room, I fly towards the ledge from the screenshots and land on top of it. Then I can ledge clip into it and attempt to ocarina dive. At this point I found out that there was no visible texture for this part of the wall, but there was still collision.
All of it was for nothing.
