It’s what we’ve been taught to believe but readiness is not true.
Everyone likes to say “wait for readiness” to potty train your toddler. But why? Since when? Have we stopped to question this?
This convenient marketing blurb came about in 1961 when pampers couldn’t sell a dang diaper to stay at home moms.
So they hired a pediatrician to do a “scientific study” which UNSCIENTIFICALLY concluded: wait til the child says they’re ready or you will psychologically damage your child.
Back then 92% of American toddlers were done toilet training by 18 months (NY Times 1999).
Today it’s an average of 3 years old!!!🤯
Now that you know where THAT came from, no need to wait.
Go ahead and potty train now so long as your kiddo is walking…the earlier the better to hit that sensitive window before 18-20 months!
Btw it should take an average of 7 days or less…
