Daniels Music Foundation | "Yes I Can!: A Girl and Her Wheelchair" | Read Aloud Books for Kids | Nancy's Book Corner @DanielsMusicFoundation | Uploaded November 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Join Nancy Trush for the next episode of Nancy’s Book Corner as she reads "Yes I Can!: A Girl and Her Wheelchair", written by Kendra J. Barrett, Jacqueline B. Toner, and Claire A. B. Freeland, with pictures by Violet Lemay. Carolyn is a happy, energetic, caring first-grader who just happens to be in a wheelchair. She’s excited to start her new year of school and make new friends. The book follows Carolyn on a typical day at home, at school, and even on a field trip. She can do almost everything the other kids can, even if sometimes she has to do it a little differently.
Nancy’s Book Corner, led by our very own Nancy Trush, an early childhood educator (and Daniel’s mom), is a read-aloud series of children’s books that introduce disabilities and celebrates differences. Designed with children in mind but with a universal message for all, Nancy brings viewers along on a fun, educational, and thought-provoking journey using books from a variety of authors to help everyone see the ability in disability.
