Longplay and review for Cauldron on the Amstrad CPC! (aka Hexenküche)
Happy Halloween! What better way to celebrate than to bring you the classic CAULDRON from Palace Software! Theres no denying this was quite a special release at the time, compared to other games back in 1985 this really stood out thanks to its visuals, style, atmosphere and two different styles of gameplay. But it was also overly difficult, in fact one of the HARDEST games Ive ever come across on the Amstrad!!!! And Ive put off doing a longplay of this game for many years deeming its level design frustratingly broken and stupid. Along with its sequel, it became one of my most detested games on the Amstrad and a bit of a meme to taunt me with within the community! However, like a true Halloween horror movie its time I uncovered its dark past, confronted my demons and defeated them..... 🎃

Its all about YOU tonight! Continuing our new community focussed series on the Amstream, similar to our request nights, but tweaking the format a little and allowing for other fun stuff - like a quiz later! With it being the first Amstream of 2024 I wanted to do something fun, chill and inclusive tonight! Therefore for like in part #1...
I want to hear (and then play) your favourite Amstrad CPC games! Plus your reasons why you love them so much! Its a kind of a request night but with a twist and a theme, however you have to be selected first! For that, we have a random wheel picker which everyones name goes up on! We spin the wheel after each game and see who it chooses next! That way its fair and it could be anyone next! Just make sure you say hello in the chat and I add you to the list!
Later on in the stream its the return of a favourite Community AMSGAME!.....

⭐️🗝️ The Key (Episode 1)! 🗝️⭐️
The Amstrad finally gets a stunning looking point and click adventure game!! Could this be our answer to rival computers Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island? I can only count two other point and click games on the Amstrad - B.A.T. and Orion Prime... but they were static screens! Here in this new game The Key from Pakete Soft, using their specially developed game engine, you have an actual character to control who can move around the screen and interact with scenery and other characters! Just like in those other rival games! Wow! Lots of fiendish puzzles to solve in some beautifully designed surroundings, all complemented with some lovely music... I cant wait to delve into this adventure!

⚡️ Plotting GX4000 Remastered Update! ⚡️
So Flipull+ is an updated version of the GX4000 release of Plotting from Ocean Software! Both SyX and RedAngel are back, after doing a similar treatment to Pang the other month! This now has 50 levels taken from the NES version with new background graphics, new logo, data compression and other tweaks!

Its coin-op conversion time to the CPC with an early classic from Taito - Elevator Action! Starting at the top of a 30 storey building, Otto the super spy has to use the lifts to infiltrate the building, recover all the secret documents, shoot the gangsters and escape in the waiting car in the basement! Simple stuff? But the gameplay holds some hidden depths. Lets beat the game and find out how the conversion to the Amstrad holds up - coming out 5 years after the original coin-op arrived in the arcades! Plus well take a little look at the other conversions too!

Stormlord is another classic game from legendary coder Raffaele Cecco! Famous for his games like Equinox, Exolon and both Cybernoids, returning this time with a fantasy themed platformer meets run n gun with puzzles, moving away from space and sci-fi of his previous games.
Although the memories and legacy of Stormlord is rather overshadowed by the fairies flaunting their err.... well youll see if youve never played this before!! 😱🧚♀️
Anyway, this reviewed very highly at the time, but blimey is this a tough game! Maybe too tough? Is the gameplay balance right? Lets find out if reviewers at the time were away with the fairies...

⭐️1984⭐️ Part #5!
We continue on our long ongoing journey and quest to play, review (you will vote in the chat!), record and document (eventually I will release the final spreadsheet and results!) of every commercially released game on the Amstrad CPC!
The first four parts of the A-Z of Amstrad games proved very popular last year, and by popular demand we bring you part #5! Were playing through them alphabetically by year order, starting with the birth of the machine in the first year - 1984! ❤️ Last time we got up to the letter S...
So expect lots of nostalgia, Amsoft games, a load of old crap, and some oldie but goldies! Whatever we come across though its an interesting part of Amstrad and gaming history were documenting!
(The games we will be excluding are magazine listings and type-ins, text adventures, and strategy/war simulations. Some other simulation type games may be skipped and we probably will skip past public domain / homebrew games until later in the machines life.)
Its sure to be nostalgic AMSFUN as always!

The previous A-Z of Amstrad games streams proved to be very popular, and so now we bring you the second part of 1985! Were playing through the games alphabetically, but last time in part #1 we had to get through all the games beginning with numbers (eg 3D Starstrike), we have one more of them to do then were starting with the letter A tonight!
