RobertQuinlan | X-Ray Builds 749, 756 and 788 (2001) @RobertQuinlan | Uploaded 13 years ago | Updated 3 hours ago
Thanks to Loxotron at the Gaminator forums, we now have access to a number of builds previously unseen or known only from fragmented media, including content from the earliest stages of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. project. This video covers the most primitive materials.
Build 749 (April 19th, 2001) contains a single map, sharing the Aztec theme of the well known build 1098. It makes heavy use of borrowed content, particularly the railgun from id Software's Quake III.
Build 756 (June 26th, 2001) contains a handful of test levels based on a common theme, and shows minor refinements to the engine technology. It includes a playable helicopter.
Build 788 (August 27th, 2001) was originally configured to run a scripted flythrough of a demonstration level, but is semi-playable with a community patch. It introduces the minigun which was a common fixture in the 10XX and 11XX builds.
The game's later history is, of course, documented at http://www.tinyurl.com/knowyourbuilds
(Music is a collection of tracks found in the builds, including what appears to be a Rainbow Six theme remix, and the hospital ambiance from Clear Sky.)
