Xiaomi is a major brand in China and they make a lot of products. Recently they have started to release products in the Apple Homekit ecosystem at a very low price point. I decided I needed to see if they were worth the money. I ordered from Gearbest.com and had a great experience. It was fast and the lamp arrived within a week. The Xiaomi bedside lamp is a really interesting product with full WRGB light capabilities and one of the features that Xiaomi focuses on is it's ability to go all the way down to only 2 lumens. They set out to create a bedside lamp and I can easily see this soft glow not distrubing many people as they drift off to sleep. From an Apple homekit standpoint, the setup was straight forward. Wifi credentials transfered over and Homekit binding was siple. The only thing real issue with the Xiaomi Besides Lamp2 is the fact that we still have to connect ( Jan 2019 ) to the Chinese mainland servers in the Mi Home app to be able to get firmware updates of the device. Now I imported this from China, so I can't really complain that it's not supported outside China, but it is something to be aware of. All in all, I think this is a great product and at the price point I will most likely be ordering more for my kids bedrooms.
