Laura Platt | Xenoblade Chronicles - Boss Theme Piano Cover @LauraPlatt | Uploaded February 2015 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
Xenoblade Chronicles has some of the best music of any game on the Wii, and - having been introduced fairly recently to this series - this particular theme comes close to being my absolute favourite battle theme. As well as having a lot of really interesting chords and progressions, the bassline and the constantly changing tonality really make this track stand out in an already fantastic soundtrack. With this cover, the main difficulty I had was trying to flesh out some of the ideas for a solo instrument that would otherwise be filled in with the use of drums and other instruments in the original. Trying to keep this arrangement within just two hands was not an easy task.
I'm seriously excited for Xenoblade Chronicles X (the spiritual successor to Xenoblade Chronicles) which from the looks of things is shaping out to be an absolutely massive game with beautiful art design. I feel like the original Xenoblade Chronicles suffered from a lack of definition which the Wii wasn't really able to handle, so it's exciting to see the progress in terms of graphics that the WiiU's enhanced capabilities are allowing for. Hopefully we can expect another great soundtrack too!
