When I was composing for Fin Handel's short film "Following the Comet" a few years ago, I had the joy of writing a piece for acoustic guitar for the first time in a long time. For this track, I wanted to continue the absolute delight that is writing for this instrument, using simple, intimate piano lines, a touch of pitched percussion, and light, resonant strings to build my soundscape around its beautiful tone. As I often write for larger orchestras where there's an emphasis on booming, cavernous textures, I think it's a really useful composition exercise to occasionally take a step back, and hone in on the elegant interplay between just a few instruments and how they can complement each other.
