« X, Y, Zed » is a short documentary opera in three movements following Zed Cézard as he undergoes the biggest journey of his life: becoming his new self.
Composed by tenor Pierre Heault who also directed the piece, « X, Y, Zed » re-imagines Zed’s social media archives in a short movie blending visual art, circus, and movement.
“X, Y, Zed” est un court opéra-documentaire en trois mouvements qui suit le parcours de Zed Cézard alors qu’il effectue la plus grande transition de sa vie, devenir son nouveau lui-même. Composé par le ténor Pierre Heault qui en assure également la direction et la vidéographie, « X, Y, Zed » ré imagine les archives numériques de Zed dans un court film qui fait appel aux arts visuels, au mouvement et au cirque.

The Cohort for 2022|23, includes soprano Natalya Gennadi, soprano Jaclyn Grossman, baritone Luka Kawabata, and tenor Pierre Luc Houde. These singers have been mentored by artists accomplished in a variety of performing arts disciplines through a process of creation, storytelling with voice, and authentic personal connection to song.
