Psalm 42 is a great reminder of our hope in Christ when the world around us is shaking and groaning. In the midst of chaos and despair, the difficulties of life cast monstrous shadows in times of darkness, but the psalmist goes back again and again to being encouraged by the salvation of God. We are not promised a life without trial and trouble. Life can change in a moment. But God is steadfast and unchanging. He is my Rock. He is my hope, and for those who trust in Him for salvation and eternal life, He is yours.
