The WWE 2K26 roster might be absolutely LOADED, but the future of WWE games is starting to look seriously concerning after the wave of WWE releases in 2026.
With major names like Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Sheamus, Santos Escobar, Nikki Cross, Zoey Stark, Tonga Loa, Tommaso Ciampa and many more no longer with WWE, WWE 2K27 and future games could be facing a massive roster problem.
And that's only part of the problem. WWE 2K26 already includes several wrestlers who have since left WWE, meaning next year's game could potentially lose a huge chunk of the current roster while having to replace them with newer talent, returning stars, legends and DLC. WWE 2K26 currently has over 400 playable characters, making the contrast even more noticeable.
The biggest question is: How does 2K handle WWE's constantly changing roster going forward?
Could we see even more legends? More NXT talent? More AAA and independent wrestlers? Or could WWE 2K27 end up feeling significantly different from WWE 2K26?
With so many recognizable names already gone, the future of WWE 2K's roster could be one of the most interesting — and potentially messy — situations the franchise has faced in years.
