November 1941. Ten German voices hide behind a single door. One of them might be the man Churchill called "a master of war," the general who had turned the British Army into a retreating, demoralized force across North Africa once before.
The soaked British commandos in the hallway had lost half their unit just getting here. Men swept into the Mediterranean. Equipment was scattered across eighteen miles of the Libyan desert. Their radios were dead, and most importantly, their extraction plan was gone.
Yet, if General Erwin Rommel, the Desert Fox himself, was behind that door, taking him out of the fight would change everything. As the lead commando pressed his ear to the wood, he could hear laughter, loud and confident. Maps rustling. Someone was barking orders in German.
Behind him, his commandos prepared their grenades. Then, he nodded. The men of Operation Flipper knew what to do.
