The largest underground factory in the world was Central Works Dora Mittelbau in Nordhausen. This was where the rocket production moved after Peenemunde had been bombed. Security and labor controlled by the SS, it was the place where many hopes were placed, and General Kammler in control managed to get the factory production running in record speed.
But there is more to the story then just rockets, the SS was constructing far more around the mountains, some of which is still unaccounted for, There are hidden tunnel entrances leading in other directions and far larger plans were made for the complex.
I will take you through the last month of the rocket offensive, Kammler's frantic activities and the Central Works and camp. And the mountains where secrets are hiding. And I will try and tie a larger picture together.
