One of the large forts in the center of Warsaw found itself under control of Russians, Poles, Germans, Poles again than Germans and Russians again than Poles, in roughly that order. It saw its order of destruction signed several times yet she still stands abandoned in the center of the great city. One whom saw her order of destruction signed a few times.
So I had to visit this huge complex, constructed by the Czar, upgraded and ordered destroyed before WW1, thereafter was used for munition production during the second world war as well as munition storage. From here the SS Viking and Hermann Goering Division was supplied during the 3 and 4th Battle of Warsaw.
