Quick tip about how you easily can soften hard cables.
This tip generally works well on cables that have a hard plastic like outer case. Example when this is useful is when its cold outside or you just have some old cables that arent that soft any more.
On warmer places this may not be an issue but where i live where it is way below 0C this is needed when you need the wire to be softer.
