Throughout 2025 and 2026, the Office of Inclusive Excellence at Wayne State University invited community members to participate in a genealogy project. Under the leadership of Dr. Carolyn Carter, a group of 25 individuals learned ancestral research strategies. This documentary, produced by Jason Willis, catalogs the stories of this project and was premiered at Wayne State University’s annual Juneteenth celebration on June 17, 2026.
