This week I swapped the Land Yacht for a pretty cool "hybrid motorhome" from @oaktree-motorhomes and headed straight into Birmingham to try and do a full on wild camp in the city center. The weather was grim, the roads were chaos, and the first parking attempt was a complete fail. Then the Tesco height barrier killed the backup plan, it would have been so cool to wild camp in a multi story carpark but that'll have to wait for another time.
Somehow I landed a pay-and-display spot and got 16 hours just £3.50 and it's only half a mile from the centre, shops nearby, and the van felt tucked in enough to risk it. Half a mile! I think that's the closest anyones gonna get when it comes to parking in the city.
I walked over to Dave’s Hot Chicken with such excitement, I've been waiting ages to try it, and I’m not going to lie… it was a 6/10. Might’ve been a bad day, but it didn’t hit like the hype and was very disappointing if I'm honest.
Back in the van, movie time and I was so sure I had a knock but couldn't see anyone and turned out to be nothing. Gotta be honest I had a really solid sleep in the city with no dramas at all.
I find somewhere a little quieter to park up and give you a full tour of this weird campervan and motorhome crossover which im calling a hybrid!
