Today me and Tash from@lifebeyondbricks are in Winchester, parked up at the Winchester Caravan and Motorhome Club site while Jon works on the van. We jump on the bus into town for a proper explore, hunt down some breakfast, and try to squeeze in a bit of history before the British weather turns on us.
Winchester is class. Proper old streets, 11th century buildings, tiny alleyways, and the Great Hall with King Arthur’s Round Table hanging on the wall. We end up at Josie’s café for what might be one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time… buttermilk fried chicken eggs benedict. Unreal. We also chat about Amazon returns while living full time in a motorhome, how to use lockers and QR codes on the road, and I show you why I use Readly instead of carrying piles of fishing, cooking and travel magazines in the Land Yacht.
Then we head to @hotelchocolat Velvetizer Café… expecting proper velvetized hot chocolate. Now I've never tried a velvetized hot chocolate and Tash & Riki from @TheHillsExplore love and rave about them so I was proper excited for this but it turns out they don't actually make velvetized hot chocolate in the cafe?!?! I'm so confused! So I'm still yet to try a velvetized hot chocolate!
We don’t quite manage to get inside Winchester Cathedral before the rain hits, but I give you a full tour of the Winchester Caravan and Motorhome Club campsite the next morning. Big pitches, clean facilities, laundry, motorhome service point, grey waste, Elsan, and a realistic look at the hills and accessibility around the site. If you’re planning a motorhome trip to Winchester, this will give you a proper feel for it.
