Hidden aircraft
When an aircraft turns off its GPS broadcast or uses a "non-cooperative" transponder, the app uses three main methods to track it
The app pulls data from a network of ground receivers. When four or more receivers pick up the same "blind" signal, the system calculates the Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA).
If a "ghost" plane disappears or its GPS signal starts jumping wildly (spoofing), the app looks at the Navigation Integrity Category (NIC) value sent by other nearby planes.
It then overlays a "red zone" on the map. If you see a cluster of flights suddenly behaving strangely or disappearing in a red zone, it's a strong indicator of electronic warfare or "dark" military flights in that corridor.
