Teaching Artist Katie Lipsitt takes a close look at Blue Print (2015) by artist Anthony Lepore, then guides participants as they create “blueprints” of the places, people, and things that helped them in the last year and a half. For grades 3–8.
Essential supplies: Pencil, colored pencils or crayons (make sure you have the color blue), scissors, glue stick or white glue, 1 sheet of graph paper, 4 sheets of copy paper, 2–5 sheets of construction paper or recycled paper, such as a newspaper, paper bag or wrapping paper.
Evenings for Educators is a professional development program for K–12 teachers focusing on LACMA's permanent collection and special exhibitions. Each session presents strategies for incorporating the visual arts into the classroom with activities that explore the artistic process, approach works of art as primary sources, and emphasize parallels between the visual arts and core content areas.
