Residents from Rochford, Essex, say construction continued at an unauthorised traveller site over the Bank Holiday weekend despite a stop notice being issued.

The encampment was set up on privately owned green belt land near Lower Road and Greensward Lane.

Locals claim work carried on after the council ordered it to stop, while Rochford District Council said officers are monitoring the site and considering further action under planning law.
