Working online from anywhere in the world sounds great right? You can work and travel and you are location independent. But what are the downsides of being a digital nomad? What don't they show you about working remotely?
I've been a digital nomad for the past year and I want to share my experiences of the less attractive side of working online from abroad. I came to the beautiful beach town of Sayulita in Mexico. This is a digital nomad hotspot and everywhere you go, you can see people working in cafés by the beach, making money while on vacation. But after a few difficult experiences, I wanted to show the dark side of being a digital nomad and why it isn't always so great working online while you are travelling. I'm guilty of showing off my lifestyle on social media. I'm lucky to be able to work and travel. It might seem glamorous but it's still work!
Mexico is a great destination for people who want to work online and make the most of the low cost of living here.
