Vietnam was able to defeat coronavirus in a way that many other countries couldn't. I wanted to make a video about my appreciation about being kept safe in Vietnam as a foreigner at this time. But as I was editing this video, news broke that coronavirus is back again with an outbreak in Da Nang, the city I live in.
If you watch the channel, you'll know that I've been living in Vietnam for a year but I was preparing to leave the country when, all of a sudden, travel became impossible and Vietnam shut its borders. I was initially frustrated that my plans had to be cancelled and I'd have to stay in Vietnam for longer than expected but I'm so glad to be here.
Vietnam was able to defeat Coronavirus. Through lockdowns, social distancing, contact tracing, and effective quarantines, they have been able to keep the death count at 0 and life returned to normal in Vietnam long before other countries started to open up. I'm very lucky to be safe at this difficult time.
Unfortunately, there has been a new outbreak of infections in Da Nang, Vietnam. This is the city that I've just moved to and a popular tourist spot. Nobody knows how the infection has spread but once again, the Vietnamese government has acted fast to contain the spread of the disease.
