We are summarizing our work on attorneys appointed as GALs and minors counsel paid with public and private funds. These attorneys are often the root problem when it comes to family court litigation. There is no constitutional right for children to be appointed an attorney during their parents' divorce or custody disputes. So we are following the money and asking why kids need an attorney simply because their parents are involved in a divorce.
We are following the money, the attorneys and the patterns, but we are also looking to the judges who use their power to appoint these attorneys and get their fees covered.
