Believe it or not but I'm a subscriber, even though I cannot understand a word of what he says.
Russians have their own style of woodworking, with their own special tools.
One of them is the lathe knife; you could also call it the 'Russian Skew'. After watching what one can do with it I decided to make my own version of it. That was about a year ago and I haven't used it much since.
This video is the first in a series in which I'm looking (again) into incorporating the Lathe Knife into our 'Western style' of woodturning.
First of all, one needs to become comfortable with the tool and I'm not there yet. In this and upcoming video's on the subject I'm planning to show you my attempts to improve both the tool and my handling of it.
