This week on the lathe, I'm turning something special — a decorative egg made from a stunning hybrid blank of Desert Ironwood and resin, generously sent in by one of my subscribers. Desert Ironwood is one of the hardest and most beautiful woods out there, and paired with vibrant resin, this piece truly came to life.
You'll see the entire process from rough blank to a polished, display-worthy egg, with all the challenges and surprises that come from working with such a dense, character-filled material.
