After making alot of noise with their successful wood to steel conversion of Texas Giant, Rocky Mountain Construction would shock the world with the most daring series of wooden coasters in years, pushing the boundaries of what any coaster of the genre was capable of before. These coasters on prefabricated rails would reintroduce the ability of inversions on wooden track, as well as violent airtime moments and daring banking maneuvers not even thought possible of before. While fizzling out quickly, fellow manufacturers GCI and Gravity Group would take notice and keep up just fine with more international wooden coasters than ever before, most notably in the booming market of China. This is the final part of a five part series covering the full history of wooden coasters, taking us to modern day where the lines of wood and steel are beginning to become blurred with a variety of innovations around the industry.
