This video is about wood carving with Arbortech powertools, creating a differently shaped plum tree bowl or tray. In this episode, I filmed the creation of a small bowl from a piece of scrap wood plum tree. The trunks a rather small, and even the pieces have some cracks, I love to use the wood for some smaller workpieces. The grain structure and color is very nice, as you can see by the end of the video. Following the Shakespear chiasm in some way «Fair is foul, and foul is fair», beauty can often arise out of the ugly. Also the texture of the surface has a huge impact to the overall appearance of an object. I again used the Arbortech power tools, the turbo plane and the ball gauge. The tools worked very nice, even the wood was very dry and pretty hard. I have to improve my workbench to find better ways to fix the workpiece during work. This is especially important for the use of the ball gauge, it does not like any kind of moving or vibration of the workpiece.
