Piranha Arts, the producers of WOMEX, along with AMG Music, the local partners for WOMEX 22 in Lisbon, today reveal the complete Jury-selected Showcase artists, Lusofónica Stage (the Regional stage), the Club Summit and the Opening line-up. So far, the upcoming 28th edition of WOMEX in Lisbon features 51 artists representing 37 countries, not including the offWOMEX line-up and the WOMEX 22 Award recipients that will be announced in the coming weeks.

The official programme is put together from the pool of proposals that are received from around the world during an open call for submissions - open to any artist residing in any country worldwide. Altogether more than 1,600 conferences, showcases, and film proposals were received, evidently indicating the WOMEX community's enthusiasm and readiness to kick-start the live music economy globally. The official programme is curated together by the annually changing independent and international WOMEX Jury, also known as the '7 Samurai': five focusing on the Showcase proposals and two on the Conference. Together with the WOMEX showcase team, a dedicated curator puts together the Club Summit showcases.

Over 2,500 professionals (including 260 performing artists) come together every October from 90 countries, making WOMEX not only the number one networking platform for the world music industry, but also the most diverse music meeting worldwide. Its musical spectrum is unparalleled in the international showcase festival scene, ranging from the most traditional to the new global local underground, embracing folk, roots, local and diaspora cultures and urban and electronic sounds from all over the globe as well as all musical juxtapositions of these. 7 stages, around 700 exhibiting companies, 100+ speakers, films, an opening concert and an award ceremony across five packed networking days and rather short nights.
WOMEX and the many delegates in its community aim to support and strengthen the role of culture around the globe and to spread its values through the nurturing and promotion of creativity and art.
