When the 12v system in her R1S shorted and the door buttons stopped working, a woman spent a long time stuck inside the vehicle because she didn’t know very basic systems in her own vehicle- don’t be this person! Whether she did it for 15 minutes of fame or she really was this clueless, I don’t know, but here’s a quick “how to” to use the manual door handles.
I am curious to know if third party items caused the short- such as something plugged in the inside of the vehicle?
When the person made a fuss to Rivian and said she no longer felt safe in her vehicle, Rivian gave her a full refund and took the vehicle back- superb customer service in my opinion.
I do keep window breakers inside all my vehicles for safety, just in case. In a wreck your doors may be pinned closed, so it’s just an extra safety precaution and I recommend everyone does the same for their own safety too, it’s cheap insurance.
If you’re buying your own, Rivian, feel free to use my referral code to get $750 to the gear store as well as six months free charging on the Rivian network!! You don’t have to use my code, but definitely make sure you use someone’s- you can even use your own when buying a second Rivian!
