CassetteMaster | Wollensak 6020AV Reel to Reel Tape Recorder @CassetteMaster | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 7 minutes ago
Audio-Visual department type of recorder. For audio only. Three-speed unit, with 1 7/8, 3 3/4, and 7 1/2 IPS.; AC bias. AC erase. Good sound quality, and very odd mechanical design, using two motors. One AC motor for the idler-driven capstan flywheel, and the other motor (I think a DC motor) for the rewind and FF, as well as take-up. Uses a weird double-sided clutch wheel, that goes up against one wheel for rewind when the motor spins one direction, and down to a lower wheel when the wind motor spins in the opposite direction. The mechanical design of this is very unique, and I have not seen other machines with this style (save for other Wollensaks of the same series).
Run recorder. Mechanicals shown in later part of this video. Sorry, I did not show music recording quality. My apologies. This does have good frequency response and full sound.
American-made machine. Very much American. You can tell when you see the inside if you have an eye for it.
This recorder was made in 1971.
