I forgot that TV sign-ons and sign-offs were a thing before the digital switch back in June 12, 2009 and after the whole switch, this trend died along with them as well... Well, the whole "sign-on, sign-off" trend, that is.
This video was taken from ABC 5 (WOI-TV/DT) in West Des Moines, Iowa from WAY back in 2012 or 2009 long before it became "Local 5" on a 27-inch Magnavox TV/DVD/VCR combo that was in Hi-Fi stereo. Since I don't live in West Des Moines here, the name "Local 5" is completely moot plus I still call it "ABC 5" in my heart.
RIP analog TV and the family TV/DVD/VCR combo. ;(
Edit: Alan Katzer pointed out in the comment section Capital Communication Broadcasting Company, Inc. was also the licensing of WRAL radio and television in Raleigh.
