Here's a video made up of clips from a February, 1986 SFM Holiday Network airing of 1942's "Ten Gentlemen from West Point" on WNEW, New York City's Metromedia channel 5 (shortly before they became the flagship Fox affiliate WNYW).
Host Orville Redenbacher (who, so he tells us, turned down an appointment to West Point in 1924) introduces the movie with a bad read (emphasize "popcorn," Orv). A bit of the Twentieth Century Fox logo goes into a bump (versions of this are scattered throughout the video), then commercials for Fletcher's Castoria, Mentholatum, and MTV (with Dan Resin--aka "Dr. Beeper" from Caddyshack--and Roger Daltrey of The Who).
Viewers were then told that the next SFM presentation would be "You're My Everything" (with the lovely Anne Baxter), and then a "Starlight Moment" spotlighting Maureen O'Hara was brought to us by Children's Panadol. An ad for it follows, along with ones for Midol PMS, Amoré Cat Food (count the Italian stereotypes, starting with the Chianti bottle candle-holder), and then here comes Orville again, shilling his popping corn (several familiar old timers in this one, but I don't know names).
The next ad, for Weiman Wood Furniture Polish, ends with a voiceover by station announcer Tom Gregory listing local retailers. More commercials (Ferrero Mon Cheri chocolates, Mentholatum Deep Heating) lead to another host segment, and then we see that, for some reason, the Windowizards spokes-wizard rides a "catalogue" like a flying carpet. Fisher offers an amusing spot for their Honey Roasted Cashews, then there's a fun trailer/ad for the supremely cheesy-looking flick "The Eliminators" (found elsewhere on this channel by itself). The last commercial is for British Caledonia, featuring a host of hottie flight attendants.
Orville at last wraps up his hosting gig, which brings the video to the very end of the credits. The SFM production logo gets cut off by a WNEW "next" bump, teasing the unnamed first movie of their Drive-In Movie double feature.
