Portal Effect (Part 2) | Davinci Resolve | Fusion Mad Resolve 2025-04-24 | First, my apologies, I should have pushed this out last week but I had some technical issues that precluded it's release. A few of my subscribers/viewers requested that I have something/someone walk through the portal, hence this video. Admittedly, the final result may seem a little janky - had some issues with some free tools I used. But the principle of it is what I wanted to share.Yes, it is a little more complex than the creation of the portal effect itself but it is nonetheless simple to put together, just takes a bit of planning. On this one, we explore a few concepts in putting this together:a. Resizing footage to project frame resolution/frame sizeb. Basic understanding of cleanplatec. Wirelessly connecting nodes in fusiond. Using masks to cut-out an existing maske. Planning the use of an effect. Remove Banding in Fusion Comps | Davinci Resolve FREE Mad Resolve 2024-04-23 | My previous tutorial had banding despite my efforts to remove it. I explored it further and decided to share my findings.Banding usually happens when there are some subtke gradients which could happen when applying actual gradients, 3D comps with lighting or when Glow is applied in one form or the other.There are a number of ways around it, but I will be talking on how I eventually eliminated banding in my previous comp - though this was after the fact for the tutorial.I hope it comes in handy in your comps too. I'd recommend grass valley as one the options to render in place. Sick Disintegration Effect | Davinci Resolve 18 Free Mad Resolve 2024-03-26 | I've been trying to mimic time displacement in Davinci Resolve and this is as close as I have been able to make it happen.Yes it is kinda rigid and baked in at the moment but I made it such that it can be driven by any texture you create. The one thing missing though is that it can not be applied to your own motion currently.I am very open to options for optimising it as well as improving its functionality.I did not go into too much detail into how I made it though - I just did a brief run-through. Crazy 3D Noise Wipe | Davinci Resolve 18.6 Mad Resolve 2024-03-19 | Hi everyone, I made a transition in a previous video which required the use of some tools in Krokodove (a fuse in Reactor). However, Krokodove is currently not updated to work just yet with Davinci Resolve 18.5 upwards. This isn't necessarily the developer's fault but waiting on Blackmagic to make some SDKs available.To address this in the interim, this ia a first in a list of videos that will be exploring how to get some of these Korkodove effects done natively in Davinci Resolve.On this one, we will be using some interesting shape nodes alongside Extrude 3D to create a cool transition.I've also included a free transition. Fix Replace Material 3D and Follower opacity issues | Davinci Resolve Quickie Mad Resolve 2023-10-04 | When you add opacity to the follower system in Text3D and run it through Replace Material 3D, the opacity setting in the follower modifier does not work.I figured out a simple way to address this by using the bitmap node. Animate like Apple | Animate 3D laptop model in Davinci Resolve 18 Mad Resolve 2023-10-03 | I got a request from a subscriber to create an animation from an imported 3D model. This would involve animating parts of the imported 3D model independendly.The tricky part was in finding a 3D model that broke the parts down separately. Dynamic Flip Down Transition | Music Video Wipe | Davinci Resolve Mad Resolve 2023-07-04 | Inspired by Simon Stansfield's video and Elineau Alain's video, I decided to revisit one of my transition videos - 3D drop. Links to the videos below.This was originally created wit Krokodove tools but on this one, I decided to do it all within fusion. I believe everything done in here can be achieved within Fusion without recourse to any external plugin or software.It is pretty straightforward but I couldn't resist adding a little spice on top. One thing though, you will probably notice the transition is a little different from the intro video. I increased motion blur for the first renderer 3D to 10 and angle to 360 and added an additional Motion trails effect to it.
