It was written as a counter to the Kuomintang slogan "Without the Kuomintang, There Would Be No China". Within the song, the Party is referred to as "he", personifying it similarly to the way "she" might be used in English. This is reflected in the English version, "It is the CPC That Makes China Great", in which the Party is referred to as "she".
