Experimenting with responsive water ripples and render targets.
Usually this only works on the texture size of the render target.
This means large water Planes need enormous render target sizes (e.g.4096x4096) which kill performance.
Thats why I tried creating a giant plane with only a render target size of 256x256.
Here you can see the result.
Wave size and speed are highly adjustable and this is just a glimpse at what is possible.
This is running with planar reflections on a Laptop
7700k and 1060 6GB.
I could release the project files, but it might be so difficult nobody could use it :(")

Just a small update about some core mechanics...
still some bugs but basicaly some things are working :D
I am very proud of the grapple hook and the Lens of truth...
Very heavy Blueprint hacking was involved^^
Developement is going slowly...because of to much perfectionism

This Project is based on the Unreal Engine 4 Content examples render target fluid system.
All additional complex features are created by me using blueprints.
It was created in my free time without any sponsoring.
You are free to use this complex water system in any project: free, indie or commercial.
Anyways, giving a little credit somewhere would make me happy :D
Why is it free?
1. I cant provide lifetime support
2. I am no programmer and I may not be able to fix limitations or issues
IMPORTANT SIDENOTES
- use two sided materials for better simulation!!!
- Hitches every 60 seconds are caused by garbage collection and dont appear in packaged game
- Hitches around every 2 seconds may appear at fixed framerates, unlimit fps to fix that

- world space simulation at player location (only 1 single plane)

- automatic water interaction as based on tags
- Water interaction cause waves in shape of object
- Water Simulation can be tweaked to massive distances
- massive performance improvements
- splashes on shallow water
- water splash color based on actor tag of water body
- Impact at location Function/Blueprint added
- Rain at location Function/Blueprint added
- Particle Rain Blueprint added
- tesselation by distance and falloff option
- Particle interaction
- now only what touches water surface causes waves
- over water and under water touch offset
- increased water surface precision
- interactive Water Jet (Press N)
- spawn dynamic objects (Press B)
- fake buoyancy
- under water post Process volume
- char arm rotation influenced by water level
- character speed influenced by water level
- World Space Tiling of water surface
- tiling in water body settings
- yaw rotation is now properly possible
- debuging components and exposed options
- Render Target resolution and capture resolutions is now editable
- wave orientation can now be set to up or downwards
- object idle speed variable
- an activation box with offset options
- wave noise reduction option
- pixelation effect
- local planar reflection
- rain around player option
- basic caustics
- self caustics
- grass is influenced by waves
