Riikka Kovasin | Wishes for 2024 - a canvas @RiikkaKovasin | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
A process video showing me create a little canvas to hold my wishes and dreams for the upcoming year 2024.
I start by painting the canvas with acrylic paint and then collage strips of paper on top. I break the liner look with some extra collaged labels. I add some ink to the background and around the edges and then add a dimensional pattern using a stencil and modeling paste. I then start the actual composition. The first element I add is a horizontal line using baker's twine. On top I make a cluster of paper elements and also attach some wings to a vintage portrait. I use a stapler to attach the layers and foam tape to mount the cluster in place. After the bigger elements I embellish the cluster and layers with smaller elements. I finish the canvas with some number stickers and vintage buttons.
Thank you for watching!
